He completed postgraduate training at INSERM and Claude Bernard University, France, and the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, supported by PAHO/WHO.
He coordinated international research on Antarctic krill and
participated in scientific missions to Antarctica.
Past President of SUPAC, ALAPAC/ML, and WASPaLM.
