Dr. Hilda Priya D’Souza, MBBS, MD (Biochemistry), is Professor in the Department of Biochemistry at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy, Nitte (Deemed to be University), Mangalore, India. She has over two decades of experience in clinical biochemistry, laboratory medicine, teaching, and postgraduate education. She graduated from J.S.S. Medical College, Mysore University, and Kasturba Medical College, Manipal University.

Her expertise includes laboratory quality management systems, ISO 15189:2022, and internal auditing, developed within an NABL-accredited laboratory. She is pursuing the Certificate Course in Lean Six Sigma for Medical Laboratories at AIIMS, Mangalagiri.

She is Principal Investigator of a NUFR-funded project investigating human milk oligosaccharides and their association with immune biomarkers in breast milk and infant urine using LC–MS/MS. She mentors an undergraduate project selected under the ICMR Short-Term Studentship (STS-2026) programme. She completed the Trialect Lipidomics Traineeship under Professor (Dr.) Daniel Abugri, University of Alabama, USA, and the Certificate Course in Health Care Ethics with distinction under the FIAMC Biomedical Ethics Centre.

Her research interests include newborn screening, inherited metabolic disorders, clinical mass spectrometry, metabolomics, lipidomics, cardiovascular markers in psoriasis, and precision laboratory medicine. She is General Secretary of the Karnataka Chapter of ACCLMP and a member of EFLM, IDF, and The Biochemical Society, UK.
